This museum officially opens this Friday, 11/11/11, but apparently I'll be going to some special pre-opening ceremonies on Thursday. I think. My mother can be vague.
What inspired me to write this blog was a conversation with my best friend, and the reading of an article on Yahoo.
This "instant museum" is a big deal, and a HUGE enrichment for little ole Arkansas.
I personally love the fact that art snobs on the East and West coast are upset about important pieces of public art being "cast away" to be displayed in Arkansas. As if Arkansas doesn't deserve a museum.
The Crystal Bridges Museum is going to focus on American art. This is in contrast to the MOMA and other big museums.
I'm leaving out a lot of details about this Museum, because you can read the articles if you want. :)
